Bruce Macdonald
receives
On July 8, 2006, the Vasculitis Foundation (formerly the Wegener's Granulomatosis Association) presented Bruce Macdonald with the 2006 Bruce Macdonald Volunteer Spirit Award. This newly created Spirit Award honors Bruce's commitment to helping all vasculitis patients. Since being diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis in 1997, Bruce has reached out to thousands of patients around the world, providing information, educational resources and encouragement. He is a regular presence on the CSSISG message board and provides links to articles that have any relevance to CSS. He is a caring person who often tracks down the most obscure information if he thinks it will help even one person.
His website is one of the definitive sources of accurate information for patients with Wegeners Granulomatosis. In addition, the website has a wealth of information about all forms of AV, or autoimmune vasculitis, including Churg Strauss Syndrome. In future years, the Vasculitis Foundation will present the Bruce Macdonald Volunteer Spirit Award to individuals recognized for exceptional volunteer service and commitment to improving the lives of others living with vasculitis. It is very fitting that this award will always bear Bruces name as he exemplifies the true spirit of a generous, caring and tireless volunteer. The CSSA joins with the VF in publicly thanking Bruce for his efforts on behalf of all vasculitis patients. Congratulations, Bruce! Thanks from all your friends at the CSSA!
